Members will sign in, warm up, and perform some dynamic exercises in advance of the 6:00 p.m. intervals. Occasionally a JTC&amp;nbsp;&lt;u&gt;Wednesday&amp;nbsp;&lt;/u&gt;ev&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;u&gt;ening&lt;/u&gt;&amp;nbsp;interval event is cancelled (blacked out) due to a Bolles School Athletic activity, scheduled or unscheduled.&amp;nbsp; &lt;span data-contrast="none"&gt;&lt;font color="#373737" face="Arial, sans-serif"&gt;When our scheduled events are cancelled due to a blackout, an alternate location, with instructions for the workout, will be sent to the event members by e-mail.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The 2026 5K Training Class is an 8-week program designed to help individuals of all fitness levels prepare for the Memorial Day 5K race (late May). Whether you are a beginner aiming to complete your first 5K or an experienced runner looking to improve your time, this program provides the structure, guidance, and support you need to succeed.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The class begins on &lt;strong&gt;Tuesday, March 31, 2026&lt;/strong&gt;, at &lt;strong&gt;6:15 PM&lt;/strong&gt; outside &lt;strong&gt;1st Place Sports, Baymeadows Store (3931 Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, FL 32217)&lt;/strong&gt;. Come prepared for a short run or walk that evening following a brief introduction.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;If you're unsure whether this class is right for you, join us on the first day to learn more. Past participants, pace leaders, and the coach will be available to answer questions and help you decide if this training program is a good fit for you.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="background-color: transparent;"&gt;&lt;font&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;YOUR RUNNING LEVEL&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This class is open to runners of all levels.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Beginners&lt;/strong&gt; are welcome with no prior experience. We will guide you through a gradual build-up using run/walk intervals and steady progression to prepare you to confidently complete a 5K.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Experienced runners&lt;/strong&gt; looking to improve their 5K time will focus on consistent mileage, progressive long runs, speed development, cross-training, and strength work.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Each week includes structured workouts with options to match your current fitness level and goals.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="background-color: transparent;"&gt;&lt;font&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;GROUP RUNS&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tuesdays&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;"&gt;(Except for the first class, which meets at Baymeadows)&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;"&gt;All other Tuesday classes meet at &lt;strong&gt;6:15 PM on the Riverwalk outside the Winston Family YMCA – Riverside&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br&gt;
We begin with a brief group discussion covering training topics and tips, and the run starts promptly at 6:30 PM.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;"&gt;Most Tuesdays will offer:&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Alternative speed or bridge workouts&lt;/strong&gt; for runners who are looking to improve their 5K time but cannot attend Wednesday track workouts.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;A &lt;strong&gt;non-speed option with a planned route&lt;/strong&gt; for those new to the 5K distance or those who prefer a steady effort instead of speed work.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p&gt;This allows every runner to choose the workout that best fits their goals.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Saturdays&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Saturday group runs begin at &lt;strong&gt;7:00 AM&lt;/strong&gt; at various locations around Jacksonville, including Riverside, Ortega, Nocatee, San Marco, and the Beaches.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Distances will vary and include:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;Shorter options for newer runners&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;Longer options (6+ miles) for experienced runners who would like additional endurance work&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;

&lt;p style="background-color: transparent;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PACE LEADERS&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;"&gt;We have dedicated &lt;strong style=""&gt;pace leaders&lt;/strong&gt; helping guide multiple pace groups at both Tuesday and Saturday runs. Our goal is to support a wide range of paces and experience levels. While we do our best to cover as many pace groups as possible, routes will always be provided in advance so every participant feels confident and prepared.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="background-color: transparent;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 15px;"&gt;The class is conducted by Sharon Langieri, a certified RRCA running coach with a passion for helping runners achieve their goals. Sharon has been an avid runner since 2001 and has directed and managed numerous running events nationwide over the past decade. She has competed in a variety of races, ranging from the mile to the marathon, including several distance relays. With several years of experience as a pace leader in the class, Sharon is eager to take on the role of coach. Her mission is to support you in reaching your running goals, fostering strength and confidence, and building a vibrant community focused on enjoyment and achievement. Alongside Sharon, dedicated pace leaders will be on hand to provide additional guidance and encouragement.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="background-color: transparent;"&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 18px;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;REGISTRATION INFORMATION&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>2026 Spring 5K Training Class Pace Leader (March 31, 2026)</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;Pace Leaders are an essential part of JTC Running’s training classes. They help lead and support a group of runners during the Tuesday and Saturday class runs, providing encouragement, guidance, and accountability throughout the training cycle.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Pace Leaders are expected to:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ol&gt;
  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Be present and on time&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;for Tuesday night runs (6:15pm group discussion, 6:30pm run start) and Saturday long runs (7:00am start).&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Commit to attending a majority of the scheduled training sessions.&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;We understand that conflicts may come up, but consistency is key for your group’s success.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Notify Sharon&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;(call/text at 386-503-1341) if you’re unable to attend a training run, ideally with at least 24 hours’ notice.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Arrange coverage&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;when possible if your group does not have another leader available.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Keep your group together&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;as best as you can and ensure everyone reaches the final destination safely. If runners spread out, do your best to check in with both the front and back of the group.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Stay flexible and patient.&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;Every group is different, and pacing may vary week to week.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Follow the planned course routes&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;as closely as possible.&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Communicate with Sharon&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;promptly if any issues, concerns, or suggestions arise during the season.&lt;/li&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;font style="font-size: 16px;" face="helvetica"&gt;Check in for wrist bands needed for food and drink begins at 6 pm. Runners can start the fun run when they wish as there won't be a fixed time start.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Day of race fee is $15, so sign up online by June 2!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;JTC Running will match each entry fee donation to Marathon High.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In addition, each donor will have the option to join JTC Running, or extend their current membership for 12 months at the special price of $14.95 for an individual or $19.95 for a family. This discount on membership is only available in conjunction with this event.&lt;br&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
